Abstract: The objective of this paper is to analyze and evaluate the quality of economic growth in the Southern key economic region from a social perspective. The paper used the indicators of social welfare, social justice, and poverty reduction to analyze GDP, education expenditure to GDP, total budget expenditure, ratio of expenditure on education, only number of human development, per capita income, average monthly salary of employees, number of employees aged 15 and above, and poverty rate. The results showed that the HDI increases every year and higher than the national HDI, but the HDI of the region is still low compared to HDI of countries like Thailand, Philippines, and Malaysia; the gap between the poorest population groups in each local of the region occurs. The income of the agricultural production sector is at a low level and grows slowly, from which the article proposes some solutions to improve the growth quality of the Southern key economic region.
