dc.description.abstractJapan’s modernization has succeeded from Meji Restoration by receiving Western civilization on the basic of Japanese traditional culture and society. In particular, the development policies of education which were considered as the important factors to develop human resources and make the success of Meji Restoration. After 33 years of Doi Moi, Vietnam has recorded impressive achievements; the country has been lifted out of poverty and underdevelopment. But in the context of present-day industrialization and modernization, Vietnam is still facing numerous challenges. One of the greatest challenges is that receiving foreign cultures. By conducting a comparative study to analyze the development policies of education in Japan and Vietnam, the findings of this paper will give some suggestions on the development process of education in Vietnamvi
